BLÜCHER UK takes a big step in supply chain integration

BLÜCHER UK, the stainless steel drainage products supplier, has taken a big step in its commitment to supply chain integration by achieving COMPASS Chartered status. This was awarded following a comprehensive peer review session, which marked the culmination of an 18-month improvement and assimilation programme.

Part of the BLÜCHER Group of Denmark, BLÜCHER UK is a leading manufacturer and supplier of stainless steel products for domestic, commercial and industrial applications, including the award winning BLÜCHER EuroPipe® system, industrial and domestic floor drains, marine drainage products, and linear channel drainage.

COMPASS, the Construction Manufacturers Partnering Association, is an independent non-profitmaking ‘best practice’ body dedicated to making the partnership ideals enshrined in Sir John Egan’s Rethinking Construction relevant to construction industry manufacturers and suppliers.

In order to take the big step up to Chartered status, BLÜCHER UK embraced a rigorous compliance programme. This included signing up to a Code of Conduct and a series of cultural and operational commitments. There are also ongoing KPI obligations and a peer review process carried out by senior management from a number of other well-known construction manufacturers.

BLÜCHER UK’s partnering customers will see the benefits of Chartered membership in the extensive undertakings the company has given in its new Partnering Prospectus. This summarises the company’s core partnering values and its dedication to reform, continuous improvement and cultural transformation.

Commenting on the award, Peter Hardiman, BLÜCHER UK’s Managing Director said: ‘We are delighted to be one of the first companies in the UK to be awarded COMPASS Chartered status. By following the COMPASS principles we are moving our business into a new dimension where we will be able to sell on the basis of quality, value for money and teamwork. We are proud to be playing our part in the drive for best-value procurement and more integrated working practices.’
