Bridgewater Place joins the stainless steel revolution

Bridgewater Place has been designed by Aedas for developers Landmark Development Projects and St James Securities and will house 21,800 sq foot of office space in the lower 10 floors with apartments in the remaining 20 floors. When it is completed in 2007 it will join the increasing number of tall buildings fitted with BLÜCHER® EuroPipe because of its ease of installation and inherent strength.

The reasons for the increase in interest and use of BLÜCHER® EuroPipe for tall buildings is based on a number of product qualities that when combined provide the ideal solution for soil waste and rainwater systems.

BLÜCHER® EuroPipe is lightweight which is beneficial in a variety of ways. It’s light to carry and easy to manoeuvre and when it comes to supplying the pipework to the top of a 30 storey building this makes all the difference. Another benefit is that there is no requirement for additional anchors to assist in holding the weight of the stack above from bearing down on the pipework below.

Like all projects installation speed is paramount. BLÜCHER® EuroPipe comes in various standard lengths upto 6m making it quick to install and requiring fewer joints. Air tests are easily passed as all fittings are individually tested at the production stage.
There has been considerable debate in the past as to the effects of fire on soil and waste pipework, with various companies proposing differing results on whether fire can be spread up or down a stack by soil and waste pipework. BLÜCHER® EuroPipe, which has undergone the most rigorous fire tests because of its widespread use in cruise ships is non combustible and therefore will not aid the spread of fire up or down a building and requires no fire collars.
