On the Scottish school run with BLÜCHER
Since the first drain grating was produced in stainless steel by Johannes Skibild Blücher in 1965 as a replacement for the traditional cast iron ones installed in bathrooms, BLÜCHER® has grown into the world's leading manufacturer of stainless steel drains. BLÜCHER® drains are now synonymous with bathroom and swimming pool drainage.
Nowadays more and more schools have BLÜCHER® drainage products installed and none more so than in Scotland where 20 recently completed schools and academies were fitted with BLÜCHER® products with another 7 schools already specified.
This supports the drive by the Government for more sustainable ways of building, which has placed the green spotlight on all materials used in public funded construction projects.
Emphasis is often placed on a building's utilities consumption, however careful consideration should also be given to the products used to construct and fit out the building, as these can also have a great effect on the buildings initial cost to the environment and could counteract the savings made in running costs.
Typically the stainless steel used in manufacturing BLÜCHER® products has a recycled metal content of around 70%, and at the end of its useful life is 100% recyclable without loss of its material properties.
As well as an extensive range of channels and drains which are used in a variety of applications including showers, swimming pools and plant rooms, BLÜCHER® also manufacture other stainless steel products including BLÜCHER® EuroPipe, a push fit soil waste and rainwater pipework system, grease separators and access covers, all of which carry the same green credentials as the drains and channels and are perfect for use within educational environments.
